Top Eyewear Trends Make a Splash at Vision Expo Fashion Week Shows

Vision Expo East 2017 hosted a series of four “roaming” fashion shows on opening day of the conference. Hosted by Today Show Jill Martin, each show featured the top eyewear trends in colors, shapes, details and lenses give attendees an exclusive look at the various fashion-forward eyewear styles offered by exhibitors.

Presenting a troupe of models walking the show floor – wearing chic black outfits, eye-catching hair and makeup, and the season’s hottest statement eyewear and sunwear from select exhibitors – the shows came to fruition in the Bryant Park Lounge where Jill Martin, style expert and “TODAY” show contributor, served as official emcee.

The top color trends included: cherry and rich reds, matte clears, sky blues, deep emeralds, vibrant turquoises, dark blues, pastel pinks and eggplant purples, among others.

The top shapes trends included: mod and vintage rounds, modified and revamped aviators, geometric profiles, wire squared-off silhouettes, oversized looks, cat-eyes and more.

The top details trends included: bejeweled embellishments, metal layering, unexpected bridges, color blocking, earthy materials, sparkly accents, floral and striped patterns, ombre colorations, scalloped edging and beyond.

The top lenses trends included: metallic, flash, tinted, mirrored and colored lenses. Jill also emphasized that individuals can have either optical or sun lenses incorporated into any pair of frames.

Drawing big crowds in the lounge, show attendees were encouraged to visit the booths of the frames and lenses featured on the runway, and post their experience on social media using @intlvisionexpo, as well as #VisionExpo, #VEFW and #WhyIGo.
